Another Daddy Moment in History...

Put together my first bike as a dad today.

So what if it was a Dora the Explorer three wheeler with four screws and a back axle rod.

You STILL gotta get the stickers in the right place!

Be Still My Beating Heart...

I wish I would have had a camera to help you all fully appreciate this moment.

Our round robin at school started today. We lost our game 11-8 (note to all coaches: not wise to spot the other team 8 runs in the first three innings).

After the second game, my associate coach and I were dragging and raking the the infield while Maddie and Emma entertained themselves.

As I paused to catch my breath while raking first base, I saw the most glorious vision. Pushing dirt into the holes on the mound, tamping it down, and raking it smooth was my dear wife. I have never been more attracted to her in my life! Not only is she beautiful beyond compare...she is one heckuva groundskeeper! A baseball coach's dream!

(Two author notes: Said wife just pointed out that not only was she DOING it, but she was doing it the RIGHT WAY. Oh yeah, she also had the presence of mind to scold some of my players who were wearing their cleats in the school hallway. WHAT A WOMAN!)

Take THAT Bucky...

I have to gloat. Just a little bit. While it lasts. There hasn't been a lot to cheer this season. (By typical MSU basketball standards.)

Swing and a Miss...

We scored 26 runs in our double header on Saturday.

And still managed to lose the second game, 12-2.

But hey, how cool is this new windscreen we put up on our fence this season?

I got TWO words fer you...

NAS. CAR.

How sad am I that the Daytona 500 actually piqued my curiosity this weekend?

I officially put the blame on my buds Ben Heiden, who does decals for the Dodge cars, and Jesse Posey, who is the official strength and conditioning coordinator for one of the pit crews.

(Although, truthfully, the fact that I live in the deep south probably doesn't help either.)

So can either of YOU tell me who I was "rooting" for Sunday???

They're Baaaaaaaaaaaaaack...

Hard to believe, but ten days came and went and I survived! Just in time for Valentine's Day!

I'm so lonely...

Bachelorhood has been an interesting change for me. I can't say that I would be looking to continue this lifestyle anytime soon. It is a little quieter when I come home. But that's not necessarily a good thing.

A short list of things that have gone on since the LADIES left me:

1. I've done a load of laundry.

2. (Two if you count the one in the wash right now. I REALLY needed white socks and undershirts.)

3. Brought a projector home from school last Friday and played video games over the Super Bowl weekend.

4. (If there was a way to keep that set up while my daughter Destructo was around, I would be ALL OVER THAT!)

5. Did a load of dishes.

6. (You would be amazed how infrequently you have to do that when you are living off of frozen pizzas.)

7. Went to bed early. Twice.

8. Missing my beautiful best friend more than she will let me admit.

9. Missing my rambunctions goofballs more than they may ever know.

10. NEW RULE: DADDY GOES ON ANY TRIPS THAT ANYONE IN HIS HOUSE GOES ON!

Panic? There's no panic here.
(HURRY HOME E!!!)
